We have one left and I am thinking

of year, and we are getting geard
up to plant our big garden in the
next few weeks. Check out these

Pallet Progress

So remember that cool table I talked about building....well have been talking about building for almost a year now. Ready Made Magazine
had this really cool article about making a table composed of old pallets. The job I am currently working on has plenty to spare on site, so Randy and I finally borrowed pop's truck and brought the pallets home.



We did a slight modification to ours. Instead of using two 40x48 pallets for the top, we utilized the 30"x10' pallets that had on site, and stuck with the two 24x24 pallets for the base.




Then a trip to Lowe's for a few additional pieces.
(2) 2x6 for the gussets, and (4) 22" 1x4 for the angle members, and a few cedar fence boards to infill the gaps in the pallet top.



Once we got the base constructed, and top mounted, it was time to sand.
Thanks to my Dad and Anett, we got ourselves a fancy new belt sander that saved us hours ;)

The we thought we were in the clear and close to completing a project with out having to call Randy's dad --the ultimate handy man--
But as we started ripping the cedar fence boards, we needed a little help and a few more gadgets to pull it off. So he came to the rescue, he promptly bolted after the task was done before we suckered him into helping with something else;) The we had another round of sanding then applied Formby's Tung Oil Finish
recommend by that super handy man mentioned above.



And well....we finished a Weekend Project!





Mikey even had a little project of his own! That's one rad airplane!

Outdoor Living

Lots of things on my to-do list for this.
1. Tear down our garage. It structural integrity is questionable.
2. Build new garage / workshop / studio loft
3. Build new deck
4. Build custom patio and fire pit

All things that wont happen for a few years, but until then I have been looking for some cool DIY projects to make a little out door living area under this existing cover by our garage.

Here are some of my ideas.

Then I need to collect some goodwill chairs, sand them all down, and paint the same color. I'm thinking a teal or fun yellow.

So this is the project I want to complete after this deadline at work, and before my girlfriends and their babies come to visit in February;)

2012 for the Moshiers

Well I hate it when my husband is right. Really I do.
When we bought the house, we already had a full plate of other things.....busy, wonderful kids, demanding but enjoyable jobs for both, and a long list of "To-Do's"
So when I said to Randy "We should create a blog, and track our progress on the house." His response was, "Megan when are you going to find time to blog, and you know our progress we be slow, so weekly blog posts might be hard."
Of course I had a response, "Well we will make it about more than just the house, make it more about our family, and use it as a way to track our new life here in San Antonio."

And yes he was right. 2011 was most definitely the busiest year yet, and it flew by way too fast. Kids are great, and both have grown so much. Mia is a hand full, and I think I am now truly get my "pay back" for being such a hand full for my mom. She is independent, sassy, smart, funny, and stubborn. Mikey amazes us everyday. He is learning so much and so excited about learning. He tells us something new everyday almost. He also tells us how much he wants to grow up, which make me tear up every time. Randy's job is going well and lots more room in 2012 to grow even more. My weekly commutes to Austin have decreased as we have opened a San Antonio office!

We hope that for 2012, we both take a little more time from work and get to do more little projects, and make a little time to blog about it.

I post this picture of Chicago because the city inspires me. Here's to more inspiration for 2012.

New Paint! The selections were easy for me to decide on, but hard to convince the husband it would look good. As a designer...clean and simple is what I like. A modern approach mixed with fun and classic pieces (this is collection we are building). A house with kids can still be modern and cozy at the same time.

And in case you were wondering....the husband loves the finished product;)

We're Still Here

We were so excited (and still are) about our new house and couldn't wait to share every detail with our friends and family. Reality....there just aren't enough hours in the day for us;) Work has been super busy for the two of us, and the kiddos keep us busy as soon as we get home from work and school. I don't know what a full night's sleep is, and blogging....well has taken a back seat. I will get better. We have lots of new things to share and many more improvements to do. So stay tuned.....we haven't fallen off the face of the earth.

Painting Progress

The pictures are anything fancy, but I am so excited to see the popcorn texture off ceilings and heavy knock down texture off the walls.
We have a great team working for us, and they are doing such a thorough job.
They should finish skimming the ceilings tomorrow & sanding the trim, then priming tomorrow night, and we should have fresh trim and color on the walls by Thursday. Stay Tuned!

Got the Keys......

April 2, 2011...it's official , we now have the keys to our new home!
Randy and I are so excited about building our new home here in San Antonio.
Mikey did have some interesting comments on our way to the house. It went like this...
Rents: Mikey we are going to your new house today.
Mikey: Where is at? Can I play?
Rents: Is just up the street buddy, and yes you can play.
Mikey: Well...did you guys pay for it.
Rents: Chuckling...Yes Mikey we paid for it.
Mikey: Are you sure? Really? Are you promise?
Rents: Yes Mikey, we promise....it's all yours!
Mikey: Awesome!

So yes we did pay for the house and we can't wait to show you all the mayhem
